The Nature Connectors: Get outside and feel better with outdoor wellbeing sessions

Feeling lonely? You’re not alone. In 2022 a report (from The Nature Connectors) revealed that 9.63% of adults (25.99 million people) in the UK reported feeling lonely. Some even say that figure has increased, given how many people now work from home post-pandemic.

Is this you?

Or maybe you are just feeling a bit low and need to get out more…

Fortunately, The Nature Connectors, a forest school and wellbeing hub based in the Howardian hills, are running outdoor courses and sessions.

They’re perfect to build relationships with new people as you surround yourself with the beautiful landscapes of Ampleforth Abbey Orchards.

You can choose one of their three, 12-week courses (starting 23 April), to learn all sorts of new skills, such as nature crafts, bushcraft, and how to improve your wellbeing.

These are perfect if you want to build friendships and create more resilience to help you ride life’s ups and downs.

Perhaps a Fireside Friendship Drop In is better suited. These unstructured sessions enable people to gather around for a good old-fashioned chat and eat food cooked over the campfire.

These Drop Ins start on the 22nd of April and run every other week throughout the year (except school holidays).

They also run nature and wellbeing sessions for healthcare staff. These have already started, but with five more throughout the year, they are still available for GPs, charity and NHS staff who can make referrals.

All courses and sessions are led by Alison and Georgia from the Nature Connectors, based at Ampleforth Abbey Orchards in the Howardian Hills.

Ticket prices are heavily subsidised – and in some instances – free transport may be included – thanks The Howardian Hills Landscape Partnership.
