Each session costs just £3, including refreshments, and you don’t have to live in Heworth in order to attend – new members are always welcome, wherever they’re based! The game is played on the bottom of the pool, with players wearing masks, snorkels and fins pushing a puck into the goal using a stick. York Octopush meet from 8.00pm-9.00pm on Fridays at Archbishop Holgate’s School, and 3.00pm-4.00pm on Saturdays at Yearsley Swimming Pool. The first month is free, with all kit required to play provided! The group will be running a free beginner’s session for juniors and adults at Yearsley on Saturday 26th September, which is a perfect opportunity to try it out with others who are new to the sport. To get in touch or find out more, email Sam at yorkoctopush@gmail.com or visit www.yorkoctopush.org.uk.
