This October at St Nicks

The St Nicks Environment Centre houses the green heart charity of York – St Nicks. Their aim is to run events, projects and services that can help to make York more sustainable. Why not get involved in their October events?

13th October

AUTUMN FAYRE, 1-5pm. Celebrate nature’s harvest with St Nicks’ Autumn Fayre, including apple juicing, music, stalls, and their very own Bake Off contest. With activities to suit all ages (including the incredible intriguing ‘Apple Olympics’), you won’t want to miss out on this excellent start to autumn. It’s free to get in – but all donations are welcome.

18th October

FUNGI FORAY, 4-6pm. Find out everything there is to know about mushrooms! Join expert Malcolm Greaves on a walk through their amazing world. Also, where else would you be able to use the fungi joke? You know the one… about being a fun-guy… just us? Okay then. Seriously though – this is expected to be a super popular event, so make sure you book a spot.

26th October

BECKS CLEANUP DAY, 10am-1pm. Come along and help to pick litter along the Tang Hall and Osbaldwick Becks at this free, family-friendly volunteering event. It’s a great way to help the environment, while socialising and meeting new people! With any luck, the weather will be nice to us…
