Young Frankenstein: a musical comedy is coming to York for Halloween

Quite FRANKLY, we can’t wait for this one!

Young Frankenstein is an all-singing, all dancing adaptation of legendary american comedian Mel Brook’s hilarious 1974 comedy movie — and arrives on-stage at the Grand Opera House this October.

The horror-spoof tells us the story of Victor Frankenstein’s grandson, Dr. Frederick Frankenstein who inherits a castle in Transylvania and attempts to fulfil his late grandfather’s legacy by bringing a corpse back to life. With help and hindrance from hunchback-henchman Igor , his assistant Inga, and his needy fiancee Elizabeth — his experiment yields madcap success and monstrous consequences.

This musical will include superb set pieces, BOLTed-on comedy and all of Transylvanian’s most iconic smash hits including ‘PUTTIN’ ON THE RITZ’, ‘PLEASE DON’T TOUCH ME’, ‘THE TRANSYLVANIA MANIA’, ‘THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A BRAIN!” and many more.

Featuring a stellar cast, with stars such as JAMES WILLSTROP (World renowned Squash Champion continuing his transfer to the stage after playing Captain Von Trapp last Christmas), SANNA JEPPSSON (Maria in The Sound Of Music), JACK HOOPER (Mr Poppy in last year’s NATIVITY!), HELEN SPENCER (recently seen as the Mother Abbess and Dolly Levi), JENNIE WOGAN-WELLS (Narrator in Joseph) and CRAIG KIRBY (Mr Tom in Goodnight Mr Tom).

This fabulously-funny musical is not to be missed. Be there or be SQUARE.

The musical arrives at York’s Grand Opera House on October the 30th, read more about it here or head to www.atgtickets.co.uk to pick up a ticket today.
