Emily Brown, an entrepreneur and local outdoor enthusiast from York, has launched bed4night, a new, affordable travel platform connecting walkers and cyclists with local hosts offering clean, affordable beds for the night across Yorkshire and the North of England.
The idea for bed4night was born during a bike-packing trip across France.Emily said: “After a series of travel mishaps and expensive, unsuitable accommodation options, I struggled to find a simple, affordable place to stay. At one point, I considered asking a local farmer if I could sleep in their barn. Instead, I ended up paying €160 for a small room, miles off route. That’s when it clicked: there needed to be a better way. My goal is to build something that benefits everyone. Hosts can earn extra income, travellers get affordable stays, and communities receive direct support. It’s about creating something meaningful.”
bed4night brings the human element back to travelling, with real people connecting, sharing stories, and supporting each other. The platform connects guests with local hosts offering spare rooms or garden space. Travellers can find a bed in 3 easy steps:
- Create your profile. It’s free to join and easy to set up!
- Connect with verified hosts and make secure payments!
- Rest easy – stay with locals who care about your journey!
bed4night is actively seeking hosts across the UK who have spare rooms or outdoor space and are open to welcoming guests, even at short notice. Visit bed4night.co.uk to find out more!
