Heworth Tennis Club are our local sports club of the month for November.
Heworth were the top performing tennis club in York for 2023 — out of their seven teams that compete in the York League, five have been promoted while two won league titles.
The women’s first team won their division at a stroll after completing an unprecedented invincible season — incredibly winning all 12 of their matches.
The mixed-gender first team also took one step closer to sporting immortality themselves as they registered 13 wins out of their 14 matches on the way to a second successive division title.
Club Chair Erica Town said “it has been an amazing season for all the teams and congratulations went to everyone that contributed and played.”
