York City FC Foundation expands its disability programme

Are you the parent or carer of a disabled, football-mad child? Are you keen on helping your little boy or girl to develop their confidence, motor skills, and football techniques in a safe, fun, and non-competitive environment?

The YCFC Foundation has recently bolstered its disability football programme, with an FA-backed football offer developed specifically for disabled children. City Comets offers weekly football sessions across three centres: City Comets PD, City Comets ND, and City Comets CP, which is aimed at young people aged 8-14 with cerebral palsy. Sessions run every term-time Saturday morning at York Sport Village from September to July, and this month, special summer ND and PD sessions are running on the following dates:

SUMMER FOOTBALL FUN WITH CITY COMETS:

3 & 17 AUGUST

CITY COMETS ND, LNER Community Stadium, YO32 9AF. 1.00pm-4.00pm. City Comets ND summer sessions are aimed at neurodivergent young people from the ages of 5-8/9-13, or those awaiting an ADHD or Autism diagnosis.

10 & 24 AUGUST

CITY COMETS PD, LNER Community Stadium, YO32 9AF. 1.00pm-4.00pm. City Comets PD summer sessions are aimed at disabled young people from the ages of 5-8/9-13, including those with physical disabilities and/or learning or sensory impairments. Due to the playing surface of the 3G mini pitches, these sessions are unsuitable for frame or wheelchair users.

As well as extensive offerings for children, the Foundation also operates two Junior and two Adult Pan Disability Teams, aimed at those aged 8-12, 13-16, and 16+ respectively.
