Celebrating one million skaters over two decades, York’s original and largest open-air ice rink – Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland – returns to York Designer Outlet from 13 November to 3 January. With a thrilling funfair, magical Santa’s Cabin and cosy alpine café-bar, York’s award-winning festive event offers fun for all ages.
A showstopping 30ft high Christmas tree in the centre of the rink, and a backdrop of giant neon-coloured trees and glowing baubles makes a stunning setting for skating under the stars.
Cosy up in the rink-side Chalet with its fireplace and sheepskins and enjoy warming food and drinks. As evening draws in, the lights dim and the vibe eases into an après-skate bar hosting live music nights.
Outside, firepits for toasting marshmallows and a German Grill serving sausages and mulled wine will tickle the taste buds.
The funfair has something for everyone – a Waltzer, Twister and Miami for the thrill-seekers, vintage Dodgems for all the family, as well as children’s rides and game stalls offering a prize every time.
Then follow the snowy woodland walk and glittering light tunnel to Santa’s Cabin where a warm welcome and special gift awaits.
