A local family-friendly attraction has picked up its fourth award since opening in January 2025, cementing its status as one of the city’s fastest-rising businesses in the tourism sector.
Since welcoming its first visitors early last year, family-owned business The Puzzling World of Professor Kettlestring, which offers a weird and wonderful, mind-boggling experience packed with immersive illusion rooms, interactive exhibits and hands-on puzzles, has scooped four major awards: ‘Emerging Tourism Business of the Year 2026’ at the SME UK Enterprise Awards, ‘New Tourism Business of the Year’ at the Visit York Tourism Awards, ‘Best Tourist Attraction’ at the YorkWorks Business Awards, and the Tripadvisor ‘Travellers’ Choice Award 2026’.
Matthew Tritton-Hughes, founder of The Puzzling World of Professor Kettlestring, said: “We’re absolutely delighted and incredibly grateful. To receive four major awards in just our second year is far beyond anything we expected. As a family-run business, every award means the world to us. It’s a real testament to our amazing team, whose passion and hard work shine through every day. We can’t thank everyone enough.”
