This March we at Your Local Link had the pleasure of sitting down with Paolo Debernardi, he’s the award-winning author of multiple genre-spanning works, including the 2020 collection of short stories Thrumming Heart and the advice book Mastering Your Finances: a seven-step system with the aim at managing better your finances.
In Your Local Link Productions’ first video interview release, we discuss everything Paolo; from his arrival in England back in the 1990s, and his eventual journey to find home in York, to his experiences appearing on some of British television’s best-loved talent shows, and the battles he faced getting books published.
Pursuing a career as an English-language writer is well-documented as being one of the hardest industries to conquer, this is especially true for a publisher like Paolo who speaks English as a second language, has faced financial difficulties, and had to write, promote, and design his books all whilst working full-time.
