SOCIAL YORKIES IVC
Whether you’re new to the city, have lived here all your life, or are simply looking to forge friendships and make connections with like-minded locals, Social Yorkies offers the perfect outlet to get out and about and meet a wide range of new people in and around York. Established for 28 years, this non-profit-making IVC (Inter-Varcity Club) is open to people of all interests and backgrounds, and is run by the members, for the members.Social Yorkies offers a jam-packed monthly events programme, which usually includes a large array of get-togethers and activities ranging from walks and meals out to pub quizzes and club parties – each event is organised by the club’s members, of which there are currently more than 60 in and around the city. YORKSHIRE COUNTRYWOMEN’S ASSOCIATION
Meeting at 2.00pm on the second Tuesday of each month at St. Giles Church, YO23 3SE, this welcoming association brings women of all ages and backgrounds together to enjoy companionship, creativity and a strong sense of community. The association hosts a range of activities for its members, from craft workshops and guest speaker talks to days out to country shows and fun-filled social events. LET’S DANCE
Offering dance classes in a range of disciplines, including Tap, Jazz & Contemporary, and Ballet for adults and children, the Let’s Dance group meets at Bishopthorpe Village Hall, and provides a comfortable and supportive environment in which dancers of every age and ability can strut their stuff on the floor! YORKIE TALKIES OUTDOORS
Yorkie Talkies Outdoors offers local people access to a passionate community of walkers, ramblers, and nature lovers, as well as an extensive programme of outdoor-friendly events and days out.
