ARIES March 21 – April 19

A new year with new resolutions and the formation of one or two new ambitions! As far as January is concerned it’s a relatively uneventful month, perhaps with some health concerns for someone close to you. Emotional relationships suffer a frisson of tension (15th – 22nd) when priorities with a partner diverge slightly, but compromises are easily found. Money is earmarked for DIY schemes and luxury purchases.

The year ahead: 2022 looks like being quite a “bitty” year. You’ll be doing a bit of this, a bit of that, and a bit of the other, without really settling down to focus on any single issue. Some tension in February as you re-consider signing papers and contracts, and March should be an important month for major (and probably expensive) acquisitions. Quite a lot of travel energy in the spring and summer, but I would have thought more overland than overseas. Probably a lazy summer where work and careers are concerned, but a lovely summer for new romances and building stronger foundation stones in established unions. Money-wise, there’s probably more going out than there is coming in, and while some of you will be well satisfied with what your money is buying, there are a few folks out there who will have got past the point of caring.

TAURUS April 20 – May 20

2022 brings a whole load of new challenges and as such you will discover a strength that you never knew you had. It’s a good month for cracking on with a specific work project which brings high rewards later in the year. Emotional relationships are very solid, and if you were looking for evidence to indicate just how much you are loved, it should be there for you in abundance.

The year ahead: An important year and a productive year, although not always an easy one. If there are a few challenges you must see them and deal with them as challenges rather than obstacles and problems, and in so doing you come to learn that you are much stronger than you think. Actually, 2022 represents a powerful learning curve, and more than anything else, you’ll be learning a lot about yourself. The winter months may be a bit of a slog (at both ends of the year) but the early summer sees you achieving long-standing ambitions which fill you with pride and satisfaction. Furthermore, 2022 is a wonderful year where emotional relationships are concerned! Something new is found in something old and if you were looking for some evidence to indicate how much you are loved and needed, you will not be disappointed.

GEMINI May 21 – June 20

Rather a quiet month for most of you, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending upon your moods. A family member will irritate you when they ask for favours you do not wish to bestow and if you want 2022 to be better than 2021 maybe it’s time to put your foot down and say no! Energies low for sloppy romances, but established emotional relationships flourish.

The year ahead: A busy and industrious year, especially for ambitious younger members of the sign who’s get up and go has not yet got up and gone! April, August and November are key periods for making financial progress and for finding business shortcuts, while May and June see your emotional self-confidence hitting an all-time high with the establishment of exciting new romances – or if nothing else, lots of romantic opportunities. Older members of the sign might find themselves concentrating more on domestic and family matters, but there is positive energy here as well especially if there has been any discord and tension with children/parents/in-laws. Some Geminis are better at looking after others than they are at looking after themselves, and with respect, this is a tendency that needs to be reversed in 2022, and if you can do no more than that you can claim the New Year as being a successful one.

CANCER June 21 – July 22

A frisson of anger and frustration simmers beneath the Cancerian psyche and learning from the lessons in 2021, you’re in no mood to take prisoners in 2022. Lots of focus on new targets and ambitions, especially where businesses and careers are concerned. The 16th to the 21st is a period in which parents may need to take a firm stance in dealings with their children.

The year ahead: Developing the parent/child theme, I suspect that there will be friction throughout the year in mother/daughter relationships, especially if those daughters are still in their teens. You might say that there isn’t anything too unusual about this, but as far as 2022 is concerned it is really going to try your patience. At the end of the day, you might just have to accept that your kids are doing to do what they want to do rather than doing what you tell ‘em they’ve got to do! On a much brighter note, there is an element of harmony developing in emotional relationships with partners, especially during the summer months: a lot of issues are resolved between June and September and you’ll march into the autumn of the year with a much clearer idea of where you’re going and who you’re going there with. Elderly Cancerian ladies need to become a bit more health-conscious while younger female members of the sign throw all caution to the winds – and have a thoroughly good time doing it!

LEO July 23 – August 22

A nice outlook for younger members of the sign who are about the business of building new relationships. Not a lot of enthusiasm for work projects, which is okay because if you need to, you can “coast” for a while – but only for a while! Finances need some scrutiny, especially if you’ve bent the plastic over the festive season. No major problems here, but not a good time to splash the cash.

The year ahead: An exciting start to the year, but things get a bit boggy and slow down through March and April, which is a time when some important plans and timetables need re-scheduling. May and June see the pace lifting again, and although we might not be talking about summer holidays here, there are some nice travel aspects in this period. Probably some important changes of job routine or career direction in the late summer, which may be a tense and suspenseful time in which you will need to be very careful with your spending. If this frugality causes some tension within emotional relationships you could take it as an indication that someone is not so finely tuned into your wavelength as you thought they were! The concept of property is an ongoing thought throughout the autumn and winter, either its sale, or purchase, or just some major remodelling.

VIRGO August 23 – September 22

Generally speaking, this is a “battery re-charging” month, and while some plans are being made for later in the year, you should be able to relax throughout January, avoiding stress and confrontation. One close emotional relationship quietly goes from strength to strength, and perhaps January would be a good month to concentrate on affairs of the heart rather than anything else.

The year ahead: 2022 looks like being an extremely successful year for you, and quite frankly, I’m hard-pressed to find any really negative aspects. Okay, there might be a passing and a funeral, perhaps around March or April, but I must emphasise the word “might” and in this event there may be some sadness but no real sense of tragedy. Against this, personal emotional unions go from strength to strength and become stronger than ever. Finances are particularly good and go a long way to make up for losses sustained during Covid. Travel aspects auger well throughout the year, and I’m fairly sure you’ll be taking more than your usual quota of holiday time. Singletons find lasting partnerships while existing unions enjoy a deeper level of commitment and understanding.

LIBRA September 23 – October 22

January is one of those months when you’ll be well aware of the fact that actions will speak louder than words. You will judge yourself by this mantra, and probably a few other people around you as well. Anyone telling you to “relax and take it easy” will get a very short shift because you’ve got targets and you’re in no mood to be patient. Finances okay, relationships just a little bit egg-shelly.

The year ahead: Despite a potentially shaky start to the year, 2022 blossoms out into becoming quite a successful year, especially in connection with both personal and professional aspects. There are some strong romantic vibes in March, April and May, which could reflect a new relationship getting off the ground or an existing union moving into a more exciting chapter of commitment and mutual understanding. The summer months look like being dominated by more practical matters, jobs and careers etc., fiscal budgeting on all levels, and for a few, the consideration of house moves and new homes. Not a notable year for travel, but a holiday break of some sort in August. Probably in the UK rather than overseas.

SCORPIO October 23 – November 21

January looks like an exciting and quite intense month in all emotional relationships. Your biggest problem may come in the form of self-doubt in connection with one romantic situation, wherein someone is looking for more commitment from you. It’s up to you, but if I was in your shoes I would not hold back. If there are any divided loyalties this is not a bad thing if it helps you define your priorities.

The year ahead: Whatever else it might be, 2022 will not be a boring year! There is a constant undercurrent of expectation and edgy excitement, slightly held back by the need for some patience. This will be difficult for you because you’ll be in no mood to be patient about anything! Set against this background this is a year for new romantic unions, engagements, weddings, pregnancies and christenings – although I hasten to add not all at the same time and not affecting the same people! If you were going to say “well I’m too old for that sort of thing” 2022 may well turn out to be a wonderfully surprising year for you as you recognise the folly of your own preconceptions and come to realise that there is many a good tune in an old fiddle!

SAGITTARIUS November 22 – December 21

Your New Year starts in quite a thoughtful mode, and although you cannot see the next twelve months with clarity, you can see enough to know that certain aspects of your life have to change. There are (or should be!) a few health concerns, not so much for yourself but for third parties close to you. Across the board, this is a year of stepping up and taking a firm grip on the reins of leadership.

The year ahead: Not the easiest of years for most Sagittarians… You do achieve a lot, but it’s definitely a case of three steps forwards and two steps backwards. Situations can change very quickly and plans made on Monday (and set in tablets of stone) may well need to be changed by Friday. Despite your undoubted qualities of leadership, this is a year in which your thoughts and actions will be very much dictated by what is happening in other peoples’ lives, partners and spouses in particular. Where jobs, money and careers are concerned, once again your pathway will be influenced by what is happening in the lives of others, but having said that, even though there will need to be some restructuring of domestic budgets in the spring and the autumn, 2022 is not a bad year for finances… it’s just that it’s not a particularly good one either.

CAPRICORN December 22 – January 19

A hopeful overture to the New Year, and although there may be obstacles ahead of you, you will see them as challenges and will rise to the occasion. Work-wise, January may be a bit on the quiet side, but this is no bad thing in light of what you’ve had behind you and what might yet lay ahead. There’s a fresh aura of focus and determination with you. You know what to do, when to do it, and how to do it!

The year ahead: A constant theme throughout the year is your worry and concern for the welfare and well-being of other people close to you. This is commendable, but please do not ignore your own needs! Although January may be quiet work-wise, the pace picks up in Feb/March then remains constant throughout the year. Promotions and rewards fall into place in June, but there’ll be nothing here that you have not worked hard for. Backtracking to May, some cause for special celebrations here, and while you might not be the centre of attention, you will be very responsible for the attention that someone else is getting! Travel aspects are scattered across the mid and late summer, but we’re talking about the odd week here and a few weekends there and whenever. Finances are consistent and steady – no great gains but equally no losses. Where there are very great gains is in the steadfastness and security of one very close emotional relationship.

AQUARIUS January 20 – February 18

January brings some hard realisation that certain aspects of your life have got to change, one way or the other. You will understand that careers and salaries are not as important as emotional issues, including everything appertaining to health, both physical and mental. Some important conversations throughout the month with partners, both personal and professional, with some satisfying outcomes and results.

The year ahead: 2022 looks like it might be something of a crossroads year, especially for Aquarian males in their middle and later years. Having said that, all Aquarians will go through a bit of a sea change when it comes to targets, expectations and priorities: there is a dawning awareness that money (while obviously important) is not the be-all and end-all of everything, and I think that whatever your professional status, you’ll be giving a lot more quality time to leisure and pleasure pursuits. As part of this process, family will become ever more important to you and this is a brilliant year for all parent/child relationships… and it might even be a year for welcoming some new blood into your family circle. Throughout the year you need to keep an honest eye on all health situations, especially mental health, and if your inner voice of common sense is telling you that you need to take a break, make damned sure you take it!

PISCES February 19 – March 20

January brings a fresh mood of optimism when you look to the year ahead. It should be a good year for building on past successes, both professional and personal, and overall an even better year where finances and investments are concerned. A noticeable improvement in all aspects of your social life, with special events hanging on to all the nines – the 9th, 19th and the 29th. Please enjoy and have a drink for me.

The year ahead: This looks like a lovely year for making new friends and expanding your social circle. People who have been telling you that “you need to get out more” will be greatly pleased by your progress. Within this framework, there are some significant opportunities for romantic liaisons, notably April, May, July and August, November and early December. If there is something good on offer in these periods grab it with both hands and don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. 2022 is a bit of a turning point year in psychological respects because increasing you start looking into your future rather than dwelling too much in your past – and if you achieve no more than that, then that will be a major achievement indeed. With regards to jobs and money, this looks like being a steady, stable (if slightly predictable) year, unless you decide you’re fed up of playing “safe” and suddenly decide to take a job as a deckhand on a submarine or take up paragliding or parachute jumping… Which I hope you don’t. You really don’t need to!
