Brides for a Cause returns to York next month!

We’re all familiar with the old adage “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”, but if you’re thinking of tying the knot and are currently putting together a list of must-have objects, a wedding dress cannot go amiss. Whether you’re right in the thick of wedding planning, are looking ahead to a ceremony in the near (or far) future, or are already putting the finishing touches to your impending big day, there’s one item that’s simply a must for any bride-to-be… the dress!

Weddings are expensive affairs, and it can be tricky to find the dress of your dreams, especially when you’re shopping on a budget. From booking venues and settling on food choices to putting together guest lists and arranging seating plans, the seemingly never-ending faff of wedding organisation can lead to the dress sliding down the to-do list, until it’s too late (or expensive) to secure the gown you would have gone for. Luckily, if you’re looking for a way to cut costs without compromising on your ideal dress, York Against Cancer’s popular pre-loved wedding dress sale, Brides for a Cause, offers the perfect solution.

Returning next month after a magical event in March this year, Brides for a Cause enables shoppers to browse a stunning selection of second-hand and pre-loved dresses, as well as boutique sample gowns to suit every pocket. Visitors to this month’s Brides for a Cause event can make the most of 45-minute pre-booked appointments to browse and buy, or simply walk in on the day and start perusing! The event will also feature a wedding stylist and assistant, who will be on hand to help you try on any particular pieces that catch your eye.

Proceeds from each and every wedding dress sold on the day will go towards York Against Cancer, to help them continue supporting cancer patients and their loved ones in and around York.

Next month’s Brides for a Cause event will run from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sunday, 13th September at The Leveson Centre, York Community Stadium, YO32 9AF. Call 01904 764466 or email office@yorkagainstcancer.org.uk to find out more or pre-book your slot.
