Local filmmakers of every budget and experience level are now invited to submit their spookiest works for inclusion in the upcoming 2026 Dead Northern Horror Film Festival, which will take place in York this September. Whether your medium is short or feature film, you’re welcome to submit your documentary, fantasy, thriller, or horror film to be screened and recognised at the festival later in the year, which has been rated as one of the 90 best genre film festivals in the world for 2025-2026.If your submission is accepted, your film will be viewed by other filmmakers, critics, industry insiders, and discerning horror fans, and you’ll also earn the chance to compete for festival awards – previous Dead Northern Horror Film Festival award winners have gone on to secure distribution and festival circuit success!
