A heart full of love

valentines plant String of Hearts Ceropegia Woodii gardening news

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and all that, we thought we’d shine a spotlight on one of our favourite, homely plants: the String of Hearts, otherwise known as Ceropegia Woodii.

If you’re looking to care for one of these beauties, they’re going to need a bright environment to thrive in. That being said, make sure you position it away from direct sunlight as you don’t want the leaves to singe! Your String of Hearts will also need to be watered once or twice a week in the spring and summer months, and every fortnight during the winter. And, if the leaves start to turn a yellowish colour, that probably means you’re giving it a little too much love. If this happens, just gently remove the dead leaves and allow your plant to dry out before continuing its feeding regime.
