York Grand Opera House’s Christmas panto never disappoints. This year, Yorkies are invited to embark on a swashbuckling, action-packed musical pantomime that brings Neverland to life like never before!
Acting as a sequel to J.M. Barrie’s beloved children’s fantasy, The Further Adventures of Peter Pan: The Return of Captain Hook follows the tech-obsessed Emily Darling (Wendy Darling’s descendant), who undertakes the perilous journey to Neverland to warn Peter about Captain Hook’s unexpected return.
Star of stage and screen Tom Lister (Emmerdale, 42nd Street) will be treading the planks as the villainous Captain Hook, with local fan favourite Jimmy Bryant returning to the Grand Opera House as Smee after a pitch-perfect performance in last year’s panto, Cinderella. The hilarious Ethel the Mermaid is played by Kirsty Sparks (Hairspray), while Amelia Atherton (Six) breathes new life into the production as Emily Darling. Holly Atterton (Nick Jr Go!Go!Go!) will be fluttering onto the stage as feisty fairy Tinker Bell, while musical theatre star Joe Sleight (Blood Brothers) will be portraying Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up!
The Further Adventures of Peter Pan: The Return of Captain Hook runs at York Grand Opera House from 5 December – 3 January. Visit www.atgtickets.com/shows/the-further-adventures-of-peter-pan-the-return-of-captain-hook-pantomime/grand-opera-house-york/ to buy your tickets today!
