Turner, Wedgwood & Beyond: Inspired by Flaxman

York Art Gallery’s next major exhibition, Turner, Wedgwood & Beyond: Inspired by Flaxman, celebrates the lifetime achievements, legacy and influence of York-born artist, John Flaxman. Best known for his work as a sculptor, Flaxman’s designs have influenced household names such as J.M.W. Turner, William Blake and Josiah Wedgwood. Curated in collaboration with the University of York, Flaxman’s work will sit alongside the art and sculpture of his contemporaries and successors with key loans from several UK galleries.
