When it comes to treating chronic pain York residents can do no better than The Northern College of Acupuncture (NCA) based right in the centre of York on Micklegate.
When the college opened in 1988, they were the first clinic in the country to achieve professional accreditation. While the field of acupuncture has developed a lot since then — the treatment is now recommended by the National Guidelines for Clinical and Healthcare Excellence (NICE) for chronic pain— the NCA have evolved too. They now offer a wide range of services, from traditional Chinese herbal medicine to nutritional advice.
As we look ahead to the winter season, we’ve all got more than enough on our minds so the last thing anyone should be doing is continuing to suffer through chronic pain without assistance. Especially when we have a nationally-leading treatment clinic on our doorstep — at a considerably lower fee than most private clinics, a session at their multi-bed Community Acupuncture clinic starts at only £17.
The NCA has a car park and full disabled access and the main acupuncture clinic is open from Monday to Friday. Call 01904 343305 to book or visit www.nca.ac.uk/clinics.
