York Maze’s Hallowscream named the UK Scream Park

York Maze’s Hallowscream event has been named the best in the UK at the annual Halloween and scare attraction industry awards.

York Maze Hallowscream has built a dedicated fan base who return year on year to experience the five live-action haunted house attractions. In 2017 they added a new haunted house, stage show and put the whole event under cover in giant marquees.

The judges visited dozes of Halloween attractions last October and chose Hallowscream as the winner, citing the quality, range and originality of the attractions and the way the site has developed over the years.

Says Tom Pearcy from York Maze: ‘We are delighted to be named as the UK’s best Scream Park. It takes a massive effort by a huge team to stage Hallowscream each year. I’d particularly like to thank my team here at York Maze, but we couldn’t do it without the support of many local businesses who help build Hallowscream each year, and of course the fantastic actors who bring the whole event to life.”

Always looking for new ideas to enhance the experience, for 2018 York Maze have engaged American 3D visual effects artist Stuart Smith to re-design one of the five haunted house attractions using 3D artwork, one of the latest trends in American haunted house design.
