The city will play host to more than 50 events from the 2nd until the 10th of March to celebrate women’s history and raise awareness of gender issues.
The theme for 2024 is “One City, Many Women’s Voices” — highlighting the importance of sharing stories, perspectives, and experiences as the event aims to bring together self-identified women and non-binary people from all backgrounds. Over the course of the week, organisers will mark the achievements and struggles of women, both in local settings and around the globe.
Events include discussions to promote peace in conflict-ridden areas like Gaza, artistic, creative, and well-being events; and talks— including ones focused on mothers, parents, disabled women, and on black and global majority women— alongside poetry and musical showcases.
