York Community Woodland website underway

If you haven’t already heard on the grapevine, plans have been circulating for Forestry England to plant and manage a new and exciting woodland space here in Yorkshire. Allocated by the City of York Council, the 78-hectare site holds a promise of increased green space for locals as well as hopeful prospects to improve biodiversity and support the protection of endangered species.

The site will also encourage recreational activities for health and wellbeing, including walking and cycling trails and provide a range of walking and educational facilities. With plans well underway, Forestry England has now launched ‘York Community Woodland’, an official website where curious locals and environment lovers alike can keep track of the progress of this exciting new project.
