The Bev Jones Music Company took to the stage at Countryfile Live this weekend – to one of the biggest audiences the event had seen all weekend.
While overall numbers are still being calculated, it’s expected that upwards of 20,000 people turned up to the agricultural event on Sunday 18th August, hosted by BBC Countryfile stars including John Craven and Matt Baker.
Various stages throughout the grounds kept punters entertained with performances from up-and-coming bands; sheep shearing; Q&As and more. But the show that kept audiences wanting more was York’s very own BJMC’s compilation of songs from the shows.
Including stunning choral numbers from Les Miserables, Jekyll and Hyde, My Fair Lady and their upcoming production of Chess, the established company received a full standing ovation from their audience.
Lesley Jones, Owner and Founder of The Bev Jones Music Company, said: “I’m filled with pride. Total pride. We’ve been invited back as a headline act for 2020, and we loved every minute.”
The Bev Jones Music Company, which began life at the Grand Opera House York in 2005 with the late Bev Jones, have already seen huge success this year with highly acclaimed productions of The Full Monty, Strictly the Greatest Show, and a show-stopping performance at the York Proms.
Don’t miss their next production of Chess the Musical, featuring songs such as One Night in Bangkok, Anthem, and I Know Him So Well. Visit www.josephrowntreetheatre.co.uk for more information.
