CHRISTMAS CRACKER
It wouldn’t be Christmas in York without the arrival of the Annual Community Carol Concert — it’s been kicking off every festive season for the last 65 years. This year the concert will be held at York Barbican on the 17th of December, and even more excitingly — our YLL readers have a chance to win a family ticket worth £25!
Our winners will be starting the Christmas break in style, with music from Shepherd Group Youth Band, Badger Hill School Choir, Track 29 Ladies Close Harmony Chorus, York Stage School and the local legend that is Steve Cassidy for a Christmas sing-along under the baton of Musical Director Mike Pratt.
It’s an amazing cause as all proceeds from this year’s concert will go to the Lord Mayor and Sheriff of York’s Christmas Cheer Fund and money also goes to the Press nominated charity.
To be in with a chance of winning, simply answer this question:
For how many years has the concert been running?
A. 65
B. 45
C. 75
Send your answer (along with your name, address, email address, and daytime contact number) on a postcard marked ‘Christmas Carol’ to the address on page six or competitions@yourlocallink.co.uk. The closing date is Friday the 17th of November. Terms and conditions apply.
