The Breakfast Club

We love a good news story here at Your Local Link. And thanks to our friends at Carecent, we’ve got a lovely one here for you.

Carecent is a charity that provides breakfast, clothing and support to the homeless, unemployed and socially excluded throughout York. Open six mornings a week from 8.30-10.45am, Monday-Saturday, those in need can pop down for a bite to eat – and guidance to help them move forward in their lives.

And if that wasn’t enough, Carecent have recently had a major makeover in their Central Methodist Church home – including a brand new wet room. This means visitors are now able to have a shower, as well as some brekkie. The renovations also include an expanded kitchen and a new-look dining area. It’s fair to say that both the customers and the volunteers are loving it!

However, the team at Carecent are still in need of your help. They also help to provide clothing for those in need, and they’re running low on a couple of items. If you have any pairs of jeans, tracksuit bottoms, or men’s trainers that could do with going to a new home, Carecent want to hear from you.
