The Vikings are taking over your screens!

JORVIK Viking with shields

The Vikings are taking over the internet this year in the return of York’s ‘That JORVIK Viking Thing’ – the world’s largest online Viking festival – from 19 to 27 February 2022.

This online event features talks, live streams, concerts and a huge collection of videos to get your Viking fix when you fancy it.

Timed nicely for February Half-Term, the younger viewers can get involved with the ever so popular ‘Poo Day’ and recreate their own Viking poo in the comfort of their own homes. Maybe you are looking for something a little on the less messy side? Well, top children’s authors will read extracts from their Norse-themed books in a live stream setting to keep the children engrossed in their tales.

Join one of JORVIK’s Viking guides in a remarkable virtual tour of Assasins Creed Valhalla: Discovery Tour – Viking Age, looking at how this recreation of the City was inspired by the real excavations and research of several archaeological digs.

Event Manager, Gareth Henry adds “The majority of content for That JORVIK Viking Thing is free to access – we’re expecting to host around 30 hours of online videos for people to watch, so whether you are dipping in and out of the live streams, or working through our fun and educational videos, there’s plenty to explore during the half-term week”.

The full programme for That JORVIK Viking Thing will be released in early February. To sign-up for the newsletter, please visitwww.jorvikthing.com
