Following the traditions of the first Oktoberfest in Munich in 1810, York is bringing its very own spin to the German tradition. Think beer, bratwurst, and all things Bavarian.
Held at York Racecourse, the popularity of the event has allowed the organisers to add extra dates and they are on sale now! Yorktoberfest will now run from Thursday 21st to Saturday 23rd October in addition to the original dates of Thursday 28th to Sunday 31 October. Tickets are £15 per person.
A giant Bavarian-style beer tent in the Clocktower Enclosure at York Racecourse will play host to some fantastic entertainment from drag artist Velma Celli to New York OOMPAH Brass Bands thigh-slapping, foot-stomping Octoberfest tunes and it doesn’t stop there, outside there is a traditional funfair with classic rides.
Dancing, Lederhosen, Dirndls, and fancy dress are very much encouraged with nightly competitions and prizes for the best dressed.
