Lord Mayor’s Christmas Cheer celebration to be held for York’s over 65 residents

The Lord Mayor and Sheriff have announced a Christmas cheer reception will be held for the city’s over-65 residents at York Assembly Rooms on December the 5th.

There’s space for 400 people to attend alongside the Mayor, the Sheriff and some other famous faces from York’s local government— for a fantastic day of festive fun at a truly iconic York location. There will be two receptions across the day, at 10am and 2pm.

All you need to do if you’d like to attend, is fill out an application form from the council’s Customer Centre at West Offices, at York Explore or from any York library.

The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor of York, Revd Cllr Chris Cullwick, said “The Civic Party is pleased to be able to offer this very special opportunity to bring older members of the community together in the iconic Assembly Rooms. Thank you so much to the choirs for coming to share their talents and providing their very welcome entertainment.“

All completed application forms should be sent or handed in to ‘The Christmas Cheer Draw’, c/o Civic Services, West Offices, Station Rise, York, YO1 6GA – to arrive no later than Thursday 16 November as the names of the lucky attendees will be drawn from a hat on the 17th.
