Description
The York International Shakespeare Festival is back! Founded in 2015, the Festival invites scholars and performers to the City to celebrate Shakespeare – the world’s playwright. The 7th edition of the Festival will run from 22 April to 4 May 2025 with contributions from Germany, The Netherlands, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Croatia, the UK and beyond.
Audiences can enjoy full staged productions, rehearsed readings in translation – including some world premieres – academic discussion, art exhibitions, a children’s show, comedy and Tudor dance together with spontaneous performances and a party for Shakespeare’s birthday.
