The Romanian Cultural Institute and Ariadne Theatre & Lab present a vibrant, satirical reimagining of The Taming of the Shrew at the York International Shakespeare Festival.

Directed by Ema Nicola, this contemporary English-language production features a talented ensemble of London-based Romanian artists exploring gender, autonomy, and the curated identities of the digital age. By reframing Shakespeare’s controversial comedy through a modern lens, the performance asks provocative questions about power and desire in 21st-century relationships.
