Set off on a light-hearted adventure through York with the Snickelways & Silly Street Names Trail, a fun, self-guided walk designed especially for families.

Following the popularity of the Little Vikings I Spy Trail, this new route leads you through York’s hidden alleyways and wonderfully named streets — from the famously tiny Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate to the curious Nether Hornpot Lane. Along the way, you’ll find playful challenges, photo opportunities and plenty of chances to pause at independent cafés and shops.

Perfect for curious kids and grown-ups alike, the trail offers a relaxed way to explore the city’s lesser-known corners while learning a few quirky facts along the way.
