The Dark Skies Festival returns for its eleventh year, celebrating the wonders of the night sky in partnership with the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Taking place during peak stargazing season, the festival invites visitors to explore two remarkable International Dark Sky Reserves and enjoy a varied programme of events and activities.
The North York Moors is one of only 24 locations worldwide to be recognised for its pristine, dark skies and holds International Dark Sky Reserve status, awarded by DarkSky.
Visitors are encouraged to extend their stay by booking with one of the area’s dark skies friendly accommodation providers, offering more time to experience the night skies while supporting local businesses committed to protecting this special environment.
The festival offers a unique opportunity to celebrate and discover some of the darkest, clearest skies in the UK.
