Basket Weaving Workshop, York

Join Wild Harvest in the rural outskirts of York, to learn to weave a round willow basket using two types of weave.... Firstly you will make the base using a pairing weave, and before your lunch break you will insert the uprights.

After a lunch break around the (covered campfire) - bring a packed lunch... you will discover a new weave called three-rod wale and complete the walls of your basket.

At the end of the day each student gets 1:1 instruction to complete a complicated plaited style border that really finishes off the baskets professionally.

We use English grown willow and during the day the tutor will give you lots of interesting willow facts as you weave.
