Inspiring the community

York Inspirational Kids is a group for parents and families of children with a disability or additional needs offering support, friendship, activities, training and outings for those who live in the local area.

Inclusion is key to what YIK do, allowing access for all and ensuring their young people have fun, happy and rewarding experiences within their various groups, whilst also offering a supportive environment for parents and carers.

Alongside running weekly clubs at their base at Clifton Children’s Centre, they provide activities such as arts, theatre, film, craft, bowling trips and much more.

Speaking of the importance of the charity, Ruth Thompson, founder and director of YIK’s said: “We’re delighted to work with disabled and autistic young people within the city of York and helping to make a real difference in their lives.”

If you’d like to get on board and make a difference by supporting this fantastic local charity through fundraising or sponsorship, or if you have any questions on how to join, please visit YIK’s website at www.yiks.co.uk or call 01904 780880.
