The Twelve Days of Christmas at Castle Howard

York’s favourite stately home, Castle Howard, returns for the festive season with Christmas decorations that are bigger, and more beautiful than ever before.

Theatrical designers, Charlotte Lloyd Webber and Bretta Gereke, have designed the house with the theme of ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’.

Children can enjoy picking out the clues of the Twelve Days of Christmas, while grown ups can admire the spectacular decorations. Older kids won’t miss out either, with an augmented reality experience on offer, too.

“Charlotte and Bretta have created a stunning scheme where you are drawn from room to room, and visitors young and old will love, with the familiar elements of the song woven into the colourful and sparkly displays.” – head of marketing, Abbigail Ollive.

Visitors will be transported into a magical Christmas wonderland like never before.

As well as the theme of Twelve Days of Christmas, the displays take a deeper look into the traditions of the twelve days leading up to Christmas Day, with feasting playing a particularly important role.
