Twenty locals brought together by their experiences of homelessness have come together to create Homeless Bound, a book that uncovers misconceptions and public attitudes toward homelessness.
With an in-depth discussion on themes such as criminalisation demonisation, and blame, Homeless Bound highlights the alienation and stigmatising of those experiencing homelessness within today’s society, as well as explores the shifting nature of homelessness. The project also challenges how ‘othering’ language can cause further isolation.
Using graphic design, photography, and creative writing to explore a broad range of themes, this interactive project sees its launch on Tuesday 13th December from 5.30pm at the Central Methodist Church in York.
