Ghostly goings-on at the Grand Opera House

It might only be March, but it feels more like Halloween at the Grand Opera House York this week. Whether you’re a fan of the paranormal, or you just enjoy being spooked, you won’t want to be anywhere else.

GHOST STORIES
Tuesday 10th-Saturday 14th March

Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson’s worldwide hit is coming to York for the first time after breaking records and selling out all over the world. If the title sounds familiar then that’s probably because there was also a successful movie adaptation starring Martin Freeman and Paul Whitehouse.

What’s it about? Well, we can’t tell you that – you’ll have to grab some tickets and find out for yourself. But what we can say is it’ll leave you on the edge of your seat, in a disturbing and electrifying theatrical experience like no other. Are you brave enough to book?

Tickets start at £13 and a warning is given to anyone with a nervous disposition as the show contains moments of extreme shock and tension. Not suitable for under 15s.

PARANORMAL RESEARCH YORK – GHOST HUNT
Thursday 12th-Friday 13th March

Fancy experiencing the paranormal for yourself? Then don’t miss this unique experience, perfect for anyone who wants to try ghost hunting for themselves.

The Grand Opera House will be open after dark, as you’re led on a private tour of the dimly lit theatre. A range of traditional methods will be used to detect spirit energies, including crystals and divining rods – and an SLS camera for guests to use.

The event is totally interactive, meaning you can be as brave as you dare. And the team behind the tour – Paranormal Research York (PRY) – are professional and experienced paranormal investigators local to York.

Clare Bryant from PRY says: “We’re very excited to be hosting the first ever ghost hunt at this amazing, historical building. From our first walk around at the Grand Opera House we could feel the spirits already coming forward.”

What could be a better activity for Friday 13th?

Tickets cost £21.50 and there is an age restriction of 18+. Please note that parts of the building are only accessible by stairs and the tour will take place on all levels of the building. If you have any questions, please contact creativelearningyork@theambassadors.com.
