Six men have been charged nearly £2,000 for urinating in the streets of York.
Paying 20p to use the toilet might not sound like such a bad idea when you compare it to the £468 you could pay for getting caught having a wee in a car park.
That’s exactly what happened to Peter Stableford from Rawcliffe, who was found relieving himself by a police officer in the Toft Green car park on the 1st February 2019.
Toft Green seems to be the place to pee for these have-to-go heroes, as Patrick McHugh from Carr Lane decided to do a wet one front of passers by on 26th January 2019 and was fined £117, then ordered to pay costs of £144, and to top it off, a prosecution surcharge of £30.
And 18-year-old George McCormick from Sevenoaks was caught yellow-handed letting it all go on a Toft Green gate on the 18th January 2019. He had to pay a total of £394 for his inappropriate piddling.
Other places popular for p*ssing money up the wall include…
Tanner Row
Forty-seven year old Andrew Brearley from Selby was discovered urinating near the Tanner Row car park entrance on the 2nd February 2019.
Low Ousegate
Paul Baldwin from Gateshead left a bitter taste in the mouth of the sweet shop owner, whose doorway he did a wee in on the 2nd February 2019.
York City Centre
Finally, 37-year-old Emlyn Thomas gave the people of York an unwanted display at 11.25am on the 13th February as he sprayed a wall in the centre.
The sentences are a result of work between City of York Council and North Yorkshire Police in a bid to crack down on anti-social behaviour.
