Brand-new fair and food festival comes to York

A brand-new event featuring local artisan food traders and a giant vintage funfair is coming to York at the end of May. 

York Spring Fair & Food Festival will take place at the Clocktower Enclosure at York Racecourse from 28th May – 6th June. 

There will be bakeries, sweet treats, artisan cheeses, speciality beers, ice cream and much more available to buy on the day. For refreshments, a vintage double-decker, The Yorkshire Bus Bar, will be serving local gins and ales. 

The vintage funfair will feature the 1936 Speedway and the Brooklands Dodgems from 1937, to name a couple. There will also be a carousel, helter-skelter and twister. York will look particularly glorious from the top of the Big Wheel! 

The Swing Boats always go down a treat.

For children, there’s the Toy Set, Swing Boats, Muffin the Mule and Hush Hush the Train – the oldest ride made in 1933 – plus giggles galore with the Magic Mirrors.

There will be the chance to win a prize at the game stalls – test your skills at the Rifle Range or try your luck with Hook-a-Duck. 

ADMISSION*: £3 for adults, children 12 and under FREE. Open 10am until 6pm.

Admission doesn’t include fair ground ride or game stall costs.
