Another successful year at Yorkshire glamping festival, Glampfest

Started in 2017, this family-friendly festival has been a huge success year on year, with 2023 being the biggest and best yet! Hundreds of families attended the Knaresborough festival last weekend which hosted a range of stalls, activities, food and drink and live music, all set within the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside.

We saw many musical artists take to the main stage over the weekend, including Groove Council, Baldy Holly Band and DJ Rory Hoy who once again blew the roof off the marquee (metaphorically). For those fancying a more relaxed music scene, there was an acoustic live lounge around a campfire.

This year was packed with activities like trade stalls, dog show, discos, and a fancy dress competition! There was plenty of entertainment for children of all ages, such as forest school, a storytelling pirate, arts and crafts, face painting, PE sessions, circus skills lesson, drum workshops and kids’ discos. For the adults, yoga classes and wellbeing tents.

There was even a furnished bell tent village set up by local York business ‘Bears and Butterflies’ which was available for hire for anyone wanting to add the ultimate touch of luxury to their camping experience.

This year’s event helped fundraise for local charities Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre and This Is Luke.

Glampfest organisers James and Sarah Martin commented “We are ecstatic with the success of Glampfest 2023. We couldn’t have done it without our partners, the Mighty Events team, who worked tirelessly with us to make this the best Glampfest yet. We have to pinch ourselves when we think we first started this event as a humble gathering of one hundred people six years ago to bring our Glawning customers together and now it has snowballed into a proper festival with 1200 attendees! We designed this luxurious driveaway awning ten years ago and have since sold far and wide to vehicle owners looking to attach a beautiful extra space to their camping set up. The business, like the festival, has grown organically resulting in many more glawnings in the fields this year – a wonderful sight for us! We were so honoured to have Luke attend the festival who we have been raising funds for. He is such a wonderful, brave young lad. The icing on the cake for us was to see him and his family here enjoying the atmosphere with us. We hope to be back next year for another epic Glampfest.”

Glampfest is set to make a return on 10 – 12 May 2024 so keep your eyes peeled for early bird tickets. For more information, please visit https://glampfest.com/.
