A night of laughter, cabaret, mystery and glamour at York Barbican

An Evening Of Burlesque at York barbican

The UK’s longest-running Burlesque show is back on the road, bigger than ever, for a spectacular night of dazzling entertainment.

An Evening of Burlesque is a “good old-fashioned variety show that merges stylish cabaret, circus, and burlesque,” and will hit the stage at the York Barbican on Thursday July 21.

“It’s time to ‘roll up, roll up’ for a glitzy spectacle,” says James Taylor of Entertainers, the same theatre production firm that has brought mega-musicals like The Magic of Motown, Lost in Music, Fastlove, The Rocket Man, and Thank You to the Music to the stage over the previous 17 years.

An Evening of Burlesque, according to James, has seen a major upsurge in popularity following the pandemic. “I believe that the country as a whole deserves a night out where they can leave their troubles at the door and come laugh, sing along, and generally have a great time – and An Evening of Burlesque simply happens to fit that criteria perfectly.”

The show describes itself as the “variety show of the twenty-first century.”

“Expect a glitzy extravaganza with feathers and fantastic costumes, but most importantly, fun,” James assures. “The show is back on the road, and it’s bigger than ever this year.”

With “world-class entertainers and stars of the stage and screen,” An Evening of Burlesque promises to awaken the senses of theatregoers and is one not to be missed!
