The Groves Association is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting people who live and work in the Groves area of York. The Association brings together local residents, businesses, the council and voluntary organisations to address local needs, encourage community involvement, and improve the area for all. By giving residents the opportunity to get involved in community activities and projects, it aims to reduce social isolation, promote wellbeing, improve safety and protect the local environment.
The Association relies on the commitment and hard work of local volunteers to deliver a variety of community activities and projects, including greening initiatives, litter picking, an annual festival, outdoor art, local history and creative writing. The Groves Association also runs a monthly ‘Repair Cafe’, helping residents to save money, reduce waste and learn new skills by repairing damaged or broken household items.
Interested in getting involved as a volunteer? Want to find out more about what the Groves Association has planned for the upcoming year? Come along to the Groves Association Annual General Meeting at Theatre@41 on Tuesday 24th from 7:30pm to 8:45pm. Everyone is welcome!
