York Maze is back for 2026, and what a fantastic day out it is! With so much to see and do, here’s a glimpse of everything we got up to during our visit…
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the friendly team, who handed us our maps, explained what was on throughout the day, and pointed us in the right direction. Walking past the Terrace Café, Bar & Coffee, Fodder Barn & Donuts and Sweet Kiosk, we made a mental note to come back later for a bite to eat before heading off to discover the attractions.
It didn’t take long to see just how much fun everyone was having. Families were enjoying favourites including the inflatable Cobstacle Course, Corn Snake Tower Slides, Volcorno, and the popular Popcorn Pillow. We headed over to Corn on the Quad and Cornula 1, where there was plenty of friendly competition as visitors raced family and friends. There was still so much more to explore too, including the Crowmania Ride, Crowler Bowler, Cornwall and many more attractions.
We then took on the world-famous Giant Maze. We navigated our way through and climbed the viewing platforms for a fantastic elevated look across the maze. This year, the theme is ‘David Attenborough: 100 Years on Planet Earth’ – if you’re thinking of taking on the maze for yourself, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the hidden wild animals along the way! The sunshine made it the perfect day to explore and, after finding our way out of the Maze, we wandered over to the Cornpendium of Mazes to look back at the incredible maze designs from previous years.
Don’t be fooled into thinking there’s only one maze! Alongside the Giant Maze, we also tackled the Maze of Illusions, Jurassic Maize, the Mineshaft Maze and, finally, the Musical Maze. Each one offered something completely different.
One of the highlights of our visit was the beautiful Wildflower and Sunflower Corner. Filled with colourful blooms and peaceful pathways, it was the perfect place to slow down for a few minutes, and was definitely our favourite spot of the day.
After all that exploring, we were ready for a well-earned break. We stopped at the Terrace Café for food and drinks, before relaxing in the shade. Feeling refreshed, we made our way to the House of Cornfusion, a brilliant walk-through attraction packed with mind-bending illusions. From the mirror maze and shrinking rooms to spinning tunnels and tilted spaces, it’s definitely not to be missed. Our final adventure took us to Pharaoh’s Corn Quest, where we stepped back into ancient Egypt to hunt for the Golden Corn Cobs and restore the magic to the harvest.
With dozens of exciting attractions, marvellous mazes, and an array of delicious food, York Maze is far more than just a maze. Don’t forget to visit The Ivy Store on your way out to find some unique gifts!
