A-Level Results Day arrives on 13 August 2026. While it can feel nerve-wracking, you don’t have to navigate your next steps alone. The University of York is here to support you on your journey to university and help you explore the opportunities available to you through Clearing.
Clearing is a way to apply for a university place after you’ve received your exam results. It opens up new paths if you missed your grades, achieved better results than expected, haven’t applied yet, or have changed your mind about what or where you want to study. Whatever your situation, Clearing gives you the chance to discover courses that still have places available.
As the number one university in Yorkshire (CUG 2026) and with a Russell Group education on your doorstep why not check out UoY courses?
On Results Day itself, the team will be available from 8.00am to provide advice, guidance and support as you consider your next step. Eligible local and commuting students can also claim a £250 award, designed to help you get started and make the most of your university experience from day one (terms and conditions can be found at york.ac.uk/commuter).
Top tips for Results Day
● Add the Clearing hotline number to your phone now: 01904 234868. That way, you won’t need to search for it when lines open at 8.00am on Results Day.
● Find your 10-digit UCAS number in advance – one less thing to worry about on the day.
● Call the University yourself – they’re unable to make offers to parents or supporters. You’ve got this!
● Keep a pen and paper nearby so you can make notes during your call.
