The Bayeux Tapestry is planned to be displayed in England this year. To mark this historic occasion, the Fishergate, Fulford & Heslington Local History Society are hosting a half day event to explore the power struggles behind the 1066 Norman invasion and the huge impact that Norman rule made in this region, and York in particular. Chaired by Dr Andrew Woods (York Museum Trust) with keynote speakers from the University of York.
