Michael Ball is one of Britain’s leading musical theatre stars, a double Olivier Award-winning performer, Grammy-nominated artist, multi-platinum recording artist, and popular radio and television presenter. With a career spanning more than 40 years, he has remained at the forefront of the industry, earning critical acclaim and a devoted following across both stage and music.
His extensive theatre credits include standout roles such as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, Javert in Les Misérables – The Staged Concert, Anatoly in Chess, and the title role in Sweeney Todd, for which he won the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. His work also spans major productions including The Phantom of the Opera, Aspects of Love, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and The Woman in White, as well as originating the role of Marius in the original West End cast of Les Misérables. Alongside his stage career, he has appeared on television, including the BBC film That Day We Sang, further showcasing his versatility as a performer.
