The Penny Magpie Theatre Company, known for their production of Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche, returns to the stage with Sue Townsend’s poignant comedy, Bazaar and Rummage.
Gwenda, a former agoraphobic, leads a small self-help group of three individuals struggling to reclaim their independence. In a bold move toward recovery, Gwenda enlists the help of trainee social worker Fliss to lead the group in volunteering at a local bazaar. As they sort through the rummage, the group’s individual fears and anxieties reach a boiling point, only to be tempered by Fliss’s steady guidance.
