Learn the art of traditional wood carving in this immersive two-day course designed for complete beginners and those looking to develop new creative skills.
Working with lime wood, you’ll be guided through classic carving methods as you shape your own design from start to finish. With a choice of project ideas and the freedom to work at your own pace, the course is suitable for a range of confidence levels. Clear demonstrations and step-by-step tuition ensure you’re supported throughout the entire process.
The course is led by Geraint Lloyd, a highly experienced professional woodcarver with over 25 years in commercial and architectural carving, as well as extensive teaching experience. Geraint is also a fully qualified teacher, holding a PGCE.
All tools, materials and equipment are provided. Sessions run from 10am to 4pm on both days, with tea breaks included and light refreshments available throughout. Lunch is taken at around 1pm — there is an on-site café, or you’re welcome to bring your own.
