The best way to find a new beginning this April is by discovering a new community, York is packed to the brim full of fun clubs and associations— here are our top picks for the month.
York Wheels
Enjoy driving? Used to drive for a living? Have you thought about helping York Wheels Voluntary Car Scheme? Every driver finds the role fulfilling and is appreciated by the customers. Volunteer drivers are urgently required whether they’re available for as little as half a day, or four days a week. Volunteers will be required to have a DBS check prior to starting. Drivers use their own cars and receive funds to cover the fuel and running of the vehicle. The service operates from Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm. Call 01904 721770 for more information.
Parkinson’s Only Walking Football
There hour-long sessions are run by a qualified coach and aim to improve participants’ muscle strength, balance, co-ordination, mental health, and well-being. The focus is on the fun, using football as the tool. All participants must register before joining in at their first session.
