National Apprenticeship Week returns for 2024

The annual National Apprenticeship Week is back for its 17th year. Between the 5th and 11th of February, informative events will be held throughout Yorkshire and the rest of England to promote the benefits of apprenticeships for employees and employers alike.

Whether you’re leaving school this year, changing careers, or are a current student planning your next move, there are hundreds of apprenticeships to choose from. An often-unrepresented benefit is the positive impact these schemes can have on employers as well as the apprentices themselves. It is in highlighting issues like this that makes the week-long celebration so worthwhile— with events like York College’s Employer Information Breakfast that will set out the advantages businesses get out of hiring apprentices.

The theme of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week will be ‘Skills for Life’ —  reflecting on the two-way dialogue apprenticeships promote. They can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and employers to develop a workforce with future ready skills.

During the week, there will be hundreds of virtual and in-person events including helpful resources available for students, for more information, or to browse apprenticeship opportunities close to your area, visit www.apprenticeships.gov.uk.
