This session has been organised so that local headteachers can meet, network, and discuss school agendas. Education Team Officers will also be on hand to provide a question-and-answer session. The £27.50 price of a ticket includes breakfast.
National Apprenticeship Week Employer Information Breakfast, York College, 6th February, 8:15-10am.
This session has been created for employers who are thinking about taking on apprentices but are unsure how to go about it or what’s involved. A local employer will give a short presentation on the benefits of having apprentices in your business and a specialist Apprenticeship Team will be on hand to offer advice and guidance. Tea, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches will be served.
Would you trust a robot? Exploring the impact robotics, autonomous systems and AI are having on our society, Ron Cooke Hub, Campus East, University of York, 20th February, 6-7:30pm.
The University are hosting a panel discussion with leading experts in the field of AI and robotics. Speakers include technology journalist Rory Cellan-Jones, and world-leading expert on safety assurance of autonomous systems Professor John McDermid. They’ll discuss the benefits and dangers of everything AI, from driverless cars and remotely monitored ships, to robotic arms and virtual assistants.
